ABOUT ME

I am a public school teacher in Wyoming, USA who is very concerned about the state of education in the United States of America.

We must stand strong in our belief that public education is an essential component of children growing up to be active, competent, and successful individuals in an increasingly complex society.

The Founding Fathers believed that education should spread knowledge of the sciences and instill virtues like liberty and virtue in our students.

John Adams declared education a necessity for preserving rights and liberties in the 1780 Massachusetts Constitution.

Thomas Jefferson believed that educated citizens are vital for the survival of a free people.

Teachers are too often chastised and accused of running an "agenda" that simply does not exist.

Teachers just want what is best for kids: for them to learn to read, write, calculate math problems, and be critical thinkers.

We want them to solve problems with their peers and understand how to handle difficulty social situations.

We want them to interact with each other without becoming defiant or disrespectful.

Teachers want educated students to become educated adults so that we, too, may continue to enjoy the freedoms of this country that our Founding Fathers dreamed of.
